The first aircraft has landed at the new Benazir Bhutto International Airport in Pakistan

Lagan Construction and their partners Technical Associates Pakistan Limited together with the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority is celebrating as a plane carrying the Defence Minister of Pakistan, The Honourable Ch. Ahmad Mukhtar landing at the newly completed runway. The Defence Minister was accompanied by Secretary Defence Mc Nargis Sethi who is also the Chairperson of Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority. This will go down in the history as the first dignitaries to land at this precious National Project.

In a major international coup, Lagan Construction working with local partners was selected to deliver both the airside and landside contracts at the new Benazir Bhutto International Airport with contract value of £156 million. The new airport is located on 3,200 acres of land, a 30 minute drive from cities Fateh Jang and Rawalpindi.

The new state of the art airport will serve as a major hub for all aviation activities in the region. It is the first Greenfield airport in Pakistan and will comprise of a contemporary passenger terminal building, control tower, runway with a provision of a secondary/emergency runway, fast exit taxiways, aprons and a cargo complex together with all the necessary infrastructure and ancillary works.
