Lagan Construction International complete Phase I of NASWF runway repairs

Lagan Construction International has completed Phase I of the Naval Air Station Whiting Field (NASWF) Runway Repairs project in Milton, Florida as part of their contract with the US Naval Facilities Engineering Command.

The project outlines the reconstruction and rehabilitation of runways at the airport. During Phase I works 90000 sq. yards of pulverizing using a Wirtgen WR2500 and cold in place using a Wirtgen 3200 cold recycler and a Vogelle 1900-2. Following these operations Lagan Construction International placed 6000T of base course and 12000T of surface course using Lagan Vogelle MTV 3000 and Vogelle 1900-2 .

The international crew worked a total of 32,000 man-hours on Phase I without a lost time injury. Phase II is due to commence on Wednesday 20th January with expected quantities to be twice that of Phase I. Phase II is due for completion in June 2016.
