Lagan Construction Group visits Schools in Cardiff

24 Apr 2013

Lagan Construction Group is sending a ‘play safe’ message to young people in the Cardiff area as they are currently working at Cardiff Energy from Waste facility.

Lagan Construction Group’s Public Relations Manager, Catriona Donnelly, recently visited both Severn Primary and Ninian Park Primary Schools to send out a safe message to pupils, making them aware of the dangers of playing near construction sites. Almost 250 children participated in the presentations.

Some children are drawn to construction sites as exciting places to explore, but we want to get the message across that they are not playgrounds and playing on them can have dangerous consequences. We would urge all parents to keep their children safe by explaining to them the dangers of playing in or around construction sites.

Lagan Construction Group is currently delivering the civil engineering works at a new Energy from Waste plant which is located within Trident Park, 1.6 kilometers to the South-East of Cardiff City Centre, with an overall construction value of £185 million. Lagan Construction Group is working in joint venture with the French based process company CNIM to design and build the new facility for Viridor Waste Management Limited.
