Profed

The Lagan Building and Airports Team, part of Lagan Specialist Contracting Group, completed works on a state of the art private jet hangar at Bristol Airport. The hangar will house a private jet and 3 helicopters. Both Lagan Building and Airports Team worked together to successfully deliver both airside and landside works.

The hanger is 2,800 m² and consists of structural steel on pad foundations with PQ concrete floor, profiled metal cladding and standing seam roof.

Internally, an internal office space with conference room, engineers workshops, pilots briefing room, full floor to ceiling tiled toilets and shower room, stainless steel kitchens and bespoke powder coated spiral staircase with stainless steel hand rail and large reception room all fitted with bespoke personnel doors.

External works consisted of construction of a new RVP emergency access road with new street lighting and enclosed by a close board fence to separate from the sliver zone car park, while maintaining current emergency access and no disturbance to current residents i.e. Bristol Flying Centre, Bristol & Wessex Flying Club and Western Power Distribution.

Three new High Mast Lights were installed on a new apron and apron infill consisting of PQ concrete, Marshal Asphalt and Tarmacadam Dry.

These works were carried out within a live airport environment and included the relocation of 2 sub-stations. These services operate the day to day running of the airport which could not be interrupted.

The contract was carried out within an impressive 6 month period.
