White Star House, Titanic Quarter - Belfast
Project Overview
White Star House represents a number of “legacy” projects now known as the Titanic Quarter. Our ability to combine construction services meant we were able to build and fit the vision of Scot Wilson architects in what has become a welcome addition to Belfast’s emerging skyline.
H&J Martin delivered this 40,000 sq ft commercial facility providing four storeys of modern office accommodation.
The building construction is a reinforced concrete structure with its internal layout maximizing the workspace available on each floor.
Each of these areas was designed to house its own unique service platform which provides a location for the ventilation, heating and cooling equipment.
Use is made of ground water to assist the cooling process and thus reduce its carbon emission and running costs. All floors are equipped with a raised floor with a void space of 500 mm. The provision for lighting and power is of high standard throughout the building. The extensive use of glass in the work areas makes good use of natural lighting and the spectacular views to the north and south of the building.
