Ashfield Girl's School - Belfast
Project Overview
Ashfield Girls School was procured under a Phase I of the Belfast Schools Partnership between the Belfast Education and Library Board and a Joint Venture company composed of Amey Ventures Ltd and three construction companies, H&J Martin, Farrans and the Patton Group (collectively known as FMP).
H&J Martin was the design and build contractor responsible for the construction JV to deliver Ashfield Girls School an £18m post primary school for 700 pupils.
The 3 storey, 9,000m² secondary school was built on an existing campus alongside Ashfield Boys School. On completion of the new school building, the old girl's school was demolished to allow construction of playing fields and landscaping of the completed projects.
Design features include a high level of environmental sustainability and low running costs such as an engineered lighting solution and low energy consumption heating design.
