Prince's Trust Graduation for Two Young FM Placement Workers

Two young workers recently graduated from the Prince's Trust Get into Construction programme after completing placements with H&J Martin Facilities Management.

Speaking at the graduation Geoff Martin, HSQE Director with H&J Martin Limited said,

“We are delighted to support this programme with the Prince’s Trust and also thank our supply chain partners who provided work experience opportunities. Just enabling young people to get an opportunity is in these difficult times is very rewarding to all our team”

Ian Jeffers, Director of Prince’s Trust in Northern Ireland congratulated the graduates and thanked H&J Martin and other members of the Construction Leadership Group.

“While the construction industry is facing challenging times, the fact that H&J Martin continue to support the Get Into Construction Programme is a testimony to their foresight in developing skills and best practice and encouraging our young people to seek employment in what is an exciting and rewarding sector. The two young people placed by H&J Martin Limited gained vital hands on experience and were given a valuable insight into the daily operations of a building site. At this point one of the participants has secured a job starting in January 2012 while the other is about to commence an apprenticeship.”

The Prince’s Trust runs a series of ‘Get into’ courses over a variety of sectors such as retail, cooking, youth work, social care and hospitality and catering. Aimed at young people aged 16 to 25, the ‘Get Into’ courses provide recognised qualifications and practical experience as well as the opportunity to meet and impress potential employers.
